Plot Outline: On an isolated island, a small group of people is terrorised by giant, voracious shrews in the midst of a hurricane.
Plot: A disparate group are trapped on a remote island by a hurricane. On the island, a doctor works to make humans twice as small as we already are. This, apparently, will help prevent over population. Unfortunately, his experiments have also created some giant shrews. As the shrews run out of smaller animals to eat, they move in on the people in the house.

Crazy Credits: We know about 1 Crazy Credits. One of them reads:
At the beginning of the film, we see this acknowledgement:  There are hundreds of invisible people behind every film.  Behind this one there are thousands. We would like to thank  them collectively, for if we named them all there would be  no room for the film. Then as the opening credits roll, an extensive list of acknowledgements (mostly naval officers) is shown in the background.

Goofs: We know about 1 goofs. Here comes one of them:
Continuity: As Thorne and Jerry are fighting at the gate, Ann and Radford look out the window to see whats going on. In the close-up Ann is wearing a black top, even though she had just changed into a white blouse. When Thorne comes back into the house after the fight, Ann is again wearing the white blouse.

Trivia: There are 3 entries in the trivia list - like these:
    • This was one of two features produced by an independent company in Texas and intended to be distributed as a double feature. The other feature was The Giant Gila Monster (1959).
    • This film and its companion piece, The Giant Gila Monster (1959), marked the directorial debut of veteran special effects man Ray Kellogg.
    • Coon dogs were used to play the killer shrews.
